Adult comedy at times. Must be 18 to enter. The Comedy Zone has grown from its humble beginnings to become the largest comedy club network in America. New acts every week.

Jim Holder

Jim Holder is an 18-year veteran of stand-up comedy who has headlined comedy clubs from coast-to-coast. Jim started his career at The Comedy Workshop in Houston, Texas, home of the "Texas Outlaw Comics" such as Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks.

“Bill Hicks was the first non-famous comic I ever saw live and it changed the way I thought about comedy forever! The Outlaw Comics didn’t look like comedians I saw on TV. These guys owned the stage like rock stars! You never knew what was going to happen next!"

From those early influences, Jim developed the passion for stand-up comedy that he carries today. With an attitude aimed at making people laugh uncontrollably, Jim strikes incredibly close to home with his cynical descriptions of everyday subjects. His comedy is sometimes silly and hard-hitting, often spontaneous and interactive, but always funny. The question Jim receives most often after his show is "When are you coming” back

Herbie Gill

Comedian Herbie GillHerbie Gill is a comedian who learned from the best and seeks to blaze his own path in comedy. A budding new talent based in the East Coast, Herbie is a blend of culture who is not afraid to bring the big city feel to the smallest corners of the country. Still in the beginning of his career, Herbie's work ethic and ambition prove that he has nowhere else to go in comedy but up.

As a true student of the craft of comedy, audiences and fellow comedians alike notice Herbie's passion and dedication to stand up. Changing expectations and skewing stereotypes, this young comic can finesse any crowd with a mix of enthusiasm, style and wit.

Herbie's hard work and knack for presenting fresh new material earned him a house emcee position at his home club in mid 2001. Since then, Herbie has become a strong feature performer, taking over stage after stage and impressing some of the same comics he had admired coming up. Herbie establishes himself quickly wherever he performs. Now appearing at clubs, showcases and festivals across the country, his show proves he's ready to take his brand of comedy anywhere. With a shining personality, excellent stage presence and hilarious material, it's easy to see that Herbie's comedy stock is rising.

Adam Dodd

Comedian Adam DoddComedian Adam Dodd has pleased audiences all over the country, performing his original songs and bringing his state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind, hilarious, musical comedy act to wherever it may need it. Strapped with his acoustic guitar- he’s toured both coasts, always delivering laughs and displaying his craft at clubs, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, bars, restaurants, outdoor sporting events, coffee houses, sleepovers, beach huts, theaters, backyard bar-b-ques, séances, festivals, frat houses, sororities, luaus, churches, elementary schools, concert halls, nursing homes, rehab centers, and popular venues all over America- such as the DC & Hollywood Improvs, Richmond & Columbus Funnybones, The World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles, the Broadway Comedy Club & Triad Theater in NYC, Sully's Comedy Cellar in MD, Hilarities in Cleveland, OH, the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC- and Live! On Woodrow Wilson Plaza, The Gala Theatre, & The Riot Act Comedy Theater in Washington, DC. Currently, Adam is on the road, playing at venues all over the states, as well as developing a sketch series, writing a movie, and working on a new album.

Brian Thomas

Comedian Brian ThomasBrian was a Navy Brat. He lived in many different places in the north east of the U.S. (even a year and a half in Scotland). He became accustomed to changing towns and schools. To cope with these changes, Brian turned to humor, and in these early years, his humor was silly, whimsical, and definitely extroverted. At the age of ten, his grandmother moved from just outside of New York City to live with his family. Just before high school, Brian suffered a culture shock... his dad was stationed to The South... Southeast Georgia to be specific. This change left Brian unsure of his humor, so he kept it to himself and became more introverted. His humor now only came out around his closest friends, and it tended to be more sarcastic.

Upon graduating high school, Brian began attending Valdosta State University. He was to major in Marketing, but dropped out with ten credits left to achieve his Bachelors Degree. He moved back with his parents, and they've been trying to get rid of him ever since. He saw this as an opportunity to try something he had always wanted to try... stand-up comedy. At his first open mic, Brian was terrible, but no one would have convinced him of that. Since then, he has developed his style, tempering his heavy sarcasm with the re-emerging silliness of his youth.

Brian Thomas has quickly created a foothold in the world of comedy by learning from some of the greats, opening for some of the best comedians touring including Bill Burr, Kevin Hart, and Louie Anderson. He uses his sarcastic, sometimes silly style of comedy to relate his experiences as a bald, fat guy, that still lives with his parents (and grandmother), and the sorry state of his dating life. Watch as Brian turns his shortcomings and often misguided observations into comedy geniousity.

Comedian Mike SpeenbergMike Speenberg

Mike Speenberg’s comedy is not merely an experience. It is a way of life. Mike Speenberg has been labeled the "Cynical Voice of His Generation". His live show is being called a "Perfect Blend of Jeff Foxworthy and Dennis Leary". He's performed on Four Different Continents with everyone from Robin Williams to Ron White and been featured on everything from The Bob and Tom Show, to TBS, to Fox Television News.

David Beck

Comediam David BeckDavid is originally from a small town in Virginia. He now resides in Springfield, Missouri. (Thanks to marrying the woman with the loudest laugh in the comedy club one night) Originally starting out as an observational comedian, but now he has grown into a more versatile higher energy style which includes quick one liner’s. Silly often thought provoking sometimes edgy social commentary. Never one to leave himself out of the show, everything in his personal life is fair game, his upbringing, everything he cares about and things he doesn’t, and of course his experience with married life. Unlike a lot of comedians David chooses to stay positive about marriage, never attacking it or his wife in the process. David feels telling the truth about marriage is not negative, and men and women alike are entertained by his unique view of this relationship between the sexes. The truth is one reoccurring theme in David’s comedy. He chooses not to make up wild scenarios or characters to find humor. This is a key aspect of his show, and feels people can relate better to him by letting people know who he really is, and how he sees the world around him. David does how ever have an off beat way of thinking, and it is easy to think his material is “made up” or embellished, but as the show goes on the audience quickly realizes his brain is just a little off, and that’s usually when he hears his one of his favorite compliments, “You’re not right!” One of his other favorite compliments is when people mention how clean his show is, with a lack of colorful language, or explicit material. This just expands his appeal to a wider range of audience. David is quick to point out that his show is not “G” rated but an adult show with some innuendo that doesn’t use vulgarity to get his point across.

Jamie Morgan

Cameras, Guns, & Radios (CG&R) hails from Augusta, GA and is made up of 3 guys compelled to write and play great rock music. CG&R is a hardworking band and strives to provide a great show in any environment from a mellow acoustic Art Studio to a full blown rock and roll blowout complete with Marshalls and Mesas. From the The First Round and Sky City in hometown Augusta to Nashville, Savannah, Athens, Asheville, Chapel Hill, and on the band is taking its sound across the Southeast. The influences of each member are slightly different, but combine to make tight, energetic rock and roll with a solid hook and big groove.

Bruce Skinner sings and plays rhythm guitar. Bruce's style is a mixture of southern rock, punk, and 90's rock.

Josh Taylor plays bass. Josh's active, smart and musical bass lines provide counterpoint to the melodies and anchor the band's groove.

Mark Janousek is the drummer. Mark's powerful drumming is the supercharged engine driving the band with a big toe-tapping back beat.

CG&R currently has two EP's (available on iTunes and Amazon): Jump In, and Wartorn and Windswept and a brand new LP In My Life featuring remastered tracks from the first two EP's along with six brand new songs.

Bruce Skinner is the singer and guitarist for CG&R. Bruce's favorite drummer is Mark Janousek and his favorite bass player is Josh Taylor. Influences include Foo Fighters, AC/DC, U2, Pearl Jam, the Police and on and on and on. Playing and writing music remains a healthy addiction.

Josh Taylor plays bass. Originally a drummer, CG&R is the second band he's played bass in. Josh joined up after the breakup of the Augusta band Rooftop Harbor. Josh brings various styles of music to the mix adding groove to CG&R's sound.

Mark Janousek is the drummer. A seasoned drummer, he has a long history of playing drums that started in 1984. His experience started in concert orchestra playing everything from snare, bass, timpani, and percussion. He then moved on as a marching drummer playing cymbals, bass drum, snare drum, and quad toms. Over the last decade Mark has played with numerous bands and musicians in the Augusta area. Bands he has played with include Pharmacy/Polar Exes, Another Poorhouse Gypsy, philo, Doc Crosshair, and Diezel. His influences include greats such as Chad Smith, Morgan Rose, Neil Peart, Dave Grohl, Flea, John Bonham, and Johnny Cash. Mark also has experience in managing bands and has become fluent in booking and planning.

Live Music Fridays Friday, May 10
Live Music Fridays
$1 shots and live music by Brandon Reeves
Read More

Brandon Reeves has spent the last 6 years bringing his blend of roots and soul to the southeast with over 500 gigs since 2008. Brandon's music is a cross between the guitar playing of John Hurt, the songwriting wit of John Prine and the soulful vocals of Sam Cooke. He has also shared the stage with Tab Benoit, Mark Rivera of Hall & Oates band and Ringo Starr's All Star Band, and members of the Zac Brown Band. In December of 2009 Athens, Georgia's Flagpole magazine said “It’s the less overtly bluesy songs that end up being the most pleasing. Just like Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton once did, Reeves takes elements of the genre and builds songs around them—although to a much different effect than those two. The end result is undeniably more exciting than hearing a Robert Johnson tune rehashed by a modern blues musician for the hundredth time. Instead, Reeves arrives at a fusion of country, Western and alt-rock with the underlying blues influence perforating every note”.
